Fall Green Waste Collection - Oct 3rd & 4th, 2026

Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue (TMFR) has announced its Fall Green Waste Collection Days 2026, happening for one weekend only:

Saturday, Oct 3rd & Sunday Oct 4th📍 Silver Lake Fire Station – 11525 Red Rock Road, Reno

🕘 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM (weather permitting)

Why This Matters

This free event is a great opportunity to create defensible space around your home and reduce wildfire risk.

By removing dry vegetation and excess fuels, you help protect your property, your neighbors, and our community.

What You Can Bring

Accepted items include natural vegetation such as:

• Tree branches and limbs

• Shrubs (juniper, sagebrush, rabbitbrush, etc.)

• Pine and woody vegetation

  
  

What Is Not Accepted

Please note the following items will not be accepted:

• Household trash or garbage

• Lumber or construction debris

• Hazardous materials

• Grass clippings, dirt, or gravel

• Tree stumps larger than 8 inches in diameter

• Bagged materials (bags must be emptied and removed)

• Commercial or contractor waste

  
  

Important Reminders

• This event is free for Washoe County residents

• TMFR personnel will be on-site to assist

• Please do not drop off materials outside of event hours – this is considered illegal dumping
