As neighbors, it’s important that we stay informed about projects that could impact the future of our community and the lifestyle we value here in Silver Knolls.
Washoe County has announced a virtual neighborhood meeting to discuss proposed changes to the Silver Hills Specific Plan Development Standards Handbook — a large housing development planned for the area just north of Silver Knolls.
📅 Tuesday, November 18, 2025🕠 5:30 – 6:30 PM (PST)💻 Virtual Meeting Only🔗 Join the Meeting
Why This Matters
The developer is proposing revisions to the Silver Hills plan that would:
Update the land use map and increase housing density
Introduce “middle housing” standards, allowing for smaller lots and more units per acre
Amend conditions tied to the previously approved Silver Hills Village 1 Tentative Map (WTM21-006) to align with these changes
The project site spans approximately 780 acres along Red Rock Road (east and west sides), within the North Valleys Area Plan.
With only one main road in and out, limited infrastructure, and ongoing concerns about growth, it’s vital for residents to stay aware and engaged in these discussions. Your participation helps ensure that any development aligns with the character, safety, and livability of our community.
